ANATOMY TEXTBOOKS

Atlas of Human Anatomy, by Stephen Rogers Peck
This is a great book for any artist's library. It is
a very good source for the beginning artist, and
is a complete course in the study of the bones
and muscles. Bonus: Simplified geometric
drawings are found after each section, showing
how to break down the forms into simple
shapes. Excellent book!

Artistic Anatomy, by Dr. Paul Richer, and
Translated and Edited by Robert Beverly
Hale. This is an excellent book for the
advanced figure artist. Very intense and
complete in the muscle section. The
author breaks down the muscles in layers,
and isolates many muscle groups, helping
to show visually the origin and insertion
of each muscle. This helps out tremendously.
Excellent book in addition to the Atlas listed
above!
